This qualification will cover the major aspects of building and construction. You will learn to run a small to medium construction business and take overall responsibility for completing the construction of a building. You will also learn the skills required to understand the processes involved in selecting, overseeing and managing contractors, as well as how to successfully liaise with clients.

With this nationally-recognised diploma course, you will potentially be able to pursue roles such as project supervisor, building manager, site supervisor, estimator, project manager and foreperson.

Entry Requirements


  • You will have access to a computer and the internet for the duration of the course
  • The practical demonstrations of skills on a building and construction site will be required for some units of competency, near the completion of the course.
  • Students will need to have access to a building and construction site (where required)
  • You have access to certain tools that include a Theodolite and an Optical or Laser level

Duration


For the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) you will have 22 months to complete your qualification.  

You will be reasonably expected to complete all requirements of this qualification within a 22-month timeframe yet up to 24 months will be made available as students require.

At the 24-month stage (two years from the date that students first access the learning content) and additional fee of $500 will be required where students wish to have their learning resources and assessments remain open and accessible for an additional 6-month period.

Assessment Methods


The course is delivered with both theory and practical elements, with individual research (including online study).

Assessment combines practical and written presentation and self-paced exercises online in the students’ own time.

The practical demonstrations of skills on a building and construction site will be required for some units of competency, near the completion of the course.

Students will need to have access to a building and construction site (where required).
